Persistence is one of the most important virtues in successful people. It drives them beyond discomfort, imminent challenges and the rollercoaster of ups and downs. It separates those that progress and achieve from others that wilt when the going gets tough.
Obstacles, short term pain and heightened emotion can be more impactful than the long-term benefits of the task, vision or strategy. This leads to quitting prematurely and a cessation of the grander plan. It is important in these times to constantly see the bigger picture and see light when you are overwhelmed with darkness.
On the flip side quitting can be quite a skill. Discerning what is futile and will not bring you fulfilment no matter how you hard you persevere is powerful. This enables you to focus and channel that energy into other areas.
Running a business, training for an event or implementing a growth strategy require perseverance. The fitness industry is highly transient and has many people ‘quit’. However, if your vision and dream inspires you then don’t let challenges overpower you. Push through and I promise the rewards will be worth it.
